Sailing Recipes – Almonds tossed in olive oil and rosemary
Food on board… A taster sailing recipe for you!
Almonds tossed in olive oil and rosemary.
Great with Gin & Tonic, Prosecco and beer or any other sundowner on a yacht.
Super simple preparation taking no more than 3 mins from start to finish
- 1 cup of almonds
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- Teaspoon of dried rosemary
- Teaspoon of salt
Heat the oil in a small pan, but do not let it get too hot and smoke, toss in the rosemary and the salt. Heat for no more than 30 seconds or so. Do not fry the Rosemary you need to heat it sufficiently to create the aroma.
Take the pan off the heat and poor the almonds into the oil. Place the plan back over the heat and toss and stir the almonds until the oil starts to darken. This takes less than a minute.
DO NOT FRY the ALMONDS tossed in olive oil and rosemary.
Add salt and toss the almonds again.
Remove the pan from the heat.

Sailing – Recipes
Place a piece of paper kitchen towel over a bowl and pour the almonds onto the kitchen towel. Shake the excess oil off and let the towel absorb the oil.
Place the warm almonds into another bowl with a clean kitchen towel and serve. Season with salt to taste.
Serve: warm.
Remember to warn the guests that the Almonds are hot! The smell of warm almonds, oil and rosemary is very tempting…
